Had a truly enjoyable dinner at The Plantation Grill. The food was excellent, with every dish beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The waiters were humble, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening.
The live performance was a great addition to the experience and made the night even more memorable. Combined with the top-notch ambiance, elegant interior, and overall atmosphere, it created a perfect setting for a special dinner.

Went here on a date during my time in Bali, and I absolutely loved it!!!! Having a reservation is recommended. Had such a fantastic time there, we were welcomed with so much warmth! The ambience was fantastic, there was live music from a distinguished gentleman serenading us with a Clarinet and later a Saxophone. It was a wholesome experience, the welcome bread was nice, the food and drinks absolutely delicious! I totally recommend this establishment, and I look forward to returning there. Ps: The space is great for pictures! Absolutely cherish the time spent at The Plantation Grill.
Everything I had was very well put together and I couldn't fault it. First to the table was a choice of some different freshly baked breads and some home made butter, delicious! I started with the steak tartare and the Hokkaido scallops. The tartare was nice with the quail egg and bread slice toppings, although those aren't typically my favorite style. The scallops were a highlight; the broth they came in was delicious and I honestly would have enjoyed another one. For my main, I had the Tiger prawns which were grilled perfectly and prepared in a way that made them incredibly easy to eat. They were accompanied by a side of smashed broccoli and garlic which was a more unique way of serving the vegetable but I really liked it. It was a tremendous job by the kitchen and a great experience if you're looking for high-quality seafood or steak.
The ambiance here is lovely. I arrived before sunset when it was about half full, but it filled up quickly as people moved down from the rooftop bar. A standout detail was a lady roaming the floor singing opera; she was incredible and created a fantastic vibe throughout the room. It’s a very classy, 1920s-style setting that feels special.
The staff are as courteous and brilliant as ever, ensuring the service matches the high standard of the food. It is worth noting that they have two seating arrangements and usually require an advance reservation, especially if you want to catch the transition from sunset to the busier evening service.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The staff are excellent and professional. Its pricey, by basic Bali standards, but the food was cooked to perfection and delicious. We had a soloist singing and a live saxophone player gently adding that extra lux feeling.
You must have a drink or two at the rooftop bar before or after your meal.
This is a new favourite place to dine in Bali for me.
We went to Plantation Grill in Seminyak for dinner and had such a great time. It’s honestly one of those places we keep coming back to. The service is always attentive, polished, and very professional.
The decor is beautiful, very Gatsby-style with a rustic and classy touch. It feels fancy and elegant, perfect for a special dinner but still comfortable enough to relax and enjoy your night.
I’ve been here a few times, and we almost always order their dry-aged duck. It’s seriously one of their best dishes. Just make sure to call beforehand if you want it, because it does sell out quite often — it’s that good. This time there were six of us, so we ordered two ducks and a T-bone steak for sharing, plus a few other dishes to make it more family-style. Everything was well executed and perfect for sharing around the table.
They also had live performance that night, a kind of operatic or classical singing. which made the whole experience feel even more special and memorable.
Price-wise, it’s definitely on the higher side, but for the quality, service, atmosphere, and overall experience, I think it’s worth it. A lovely place for a proper dinner in Bali.

After travelling extensively throughout Bali and dining at countless highly regarded restaurants, we can say with complete confidence that nothing comes close to Plantation Bar & Grill.
From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is refined yet welcoming, effortlessly blending classic elegance with warmth and comfort. Every detail from the setting to the presentation feels intentional, polished, and deeply considered.
The food is simply exceptional.
The steak tartare is perfection in its purest form: impeccably fresh, beautifully seasoned, and balanced so precisely that every bite feels indulgent yet refined. The tuna tartlet is delicate and luxurious, showcasing the quality of the seafood and the kitchen’s flawless technique. The shrimps on toast are an absolute standout fresh, absolutely delicious!
The fresh oysters deserve special recognition. These are, without exaggeration, the best oysters we have had anywhere in the world. Exceptionally fresh, clean, and perfectly prepared they rival and surpass oysters we have enjoyed in some of the most renowned culinary destinations globally.
The chicken liver parfait is silky smooth, rich, and deeply flavourful a classic done to absolute perfection, with a texture and depth that is rarely achieved.
When it comes to the main event, every steak at Plantation Bar & Grill is extraordinary. We have tried them all, and each cut is consistently cooked to absolute precision, showcasing premium-quality meat, exceptional sourcing, and masterful execution. This is steakhouse dining at its highest level on par with the finest restaurants in the world.
And then there is dessert. The Bomb Alaska is an unforgettable finale dramatic, beautifully presented, and utterly delicious. A true showpiece that perfectly rounds out an already outstanding meal.

Despite travelling all over Bali, we have never experienced service of this calibre elsewhere.

Ambience, elegance and a very classy night out. From reservation through to the service and the food this place is professional and old school hospitality. Every menu item explained in detail with some great options. The steak plus all the sides were well presented, prepared and executed. The staff were attentive throughout. In terms of the decor and them you feel like you are transported to another period between the 🎷 saxophonist and the intimate feel of the place. Definitely a high end treat whilst in Bali.
It was a lovely place for a date night - beautiful setting, an amazing soprano singer, and terrific service. And nice touch for giving us a surprise dessert as we celebrate our anniversary.
The steak was good, though the side dishes felt a bit underwhelming. For a steakhouse, I was expecting better-quality fries, something like proper steak-cut fries instead of the small, rather bland ones. It was also surprising that creamy spinach wasn’t on the menu, as it’s quite a common side in steakhouses.That said, we still had a great overall experience.
And oh! don’t be surprised when you visit the restroom 🙈 there’s a full bathtub in there! 😅 It’s such a beautiful spot, and I’d definitely love to come back. Hopefully next time, the sides (and maybe the steak) will taste even better.
