My daughter did her junior open water with Simone. I cannot give her enough stars…. She was fantastic! She was super enthusiastic and made it a really fun learning experience. I also joined for a refresher course and a couple of dives. All fabulous. Thank you Simone and the mana team !!! It was awesome

A very special thank you note Where does one start……I want to send a thank you message to you all expressing myself in the most grateful and passionate way that words can possibly describe. Firstly …Thanks to one very special young lady, Dani, for opening up this opportunity . No words can explain the joy and happiness i am feeling right now! You were my professional guide, mentor and safety net! For all of you absolute professionals to open your arms and Instruct(Brit and Tom), Guides(Dani and Keira) and assist(Dani) an old dog through the past 12 days has been one the most wonderful and inspiring experiences of my life! Big call you say however, its largely due to a super impressive culture built on love and passion for what you do and most importantly for each other. Its unconditional. Amazing! How privileged i feel with sharing and you all including me in all dives, what an experience of a life time. A memory filled with the biggest dose if awe ever! I couldn’t believe how you gathered around me, kitted me up in the water ready to night dive by shore access. It made it all the more enjoyable. The Food will remain in the taste buds memory bank forever. The Manta Bar and Bistro - im feeling 22 yrs old again. (Not the body the next day) i loved every minute of the tour including Bens generosity. You guys and gals are A-Graders in your profession, dancing, partying, singing, karaoke, banter and supporting each other. Last but far from least is……Ben and Marriet, it starts with you guys. Great leadership and great business. My door down under in Aus is wide open to all of you! Darwin and the Tiwi Island’s. For now its goodbye but not forever. I will be back! Johanna was an Incredible Instructor ! I completed my Advanced open water under her leadership. She made sure I understood everything and always made sure I was prepared with all the proper gear ! Then did few fun dives after I completed my course with Master Diver Opik and he was incredible. He helped me learn new signs to point out sea life and he was very kind and attentive. Diving next to him was always fun Everyone was chill I love this place . Great dive community !

Manta Dive Resort: SSI Certification Success, Resort Disappointment This review is sharply split between the resort's dive center and the accommodation itself. In short: The dive operation was exceptional; the accommodation and island experience were disappointing. The Dive Center: Challenge Accepted Our primary reason for visiting Manta Dive Resort was to complete my SSI Diver Certification—the first time I attempted scuba. If you think diving is just a relaxing, deeper version of snorkeling, I can confirm that assumption is wrong. This was a genuine challenge, both physically and, even more so, mentally. The class was professional and thorough. We moved from theory (including a written test) to equipment mastery, pool practice, and finally, hitting the open sea. It was an intense workout! You have to perfect breathing through the apparatus, constantly remember to equalize your ear (clearing pressure so your head won't explode), and master essential safety skills. The most difficult skill for me was the mask removal—taking it off at the bottom of the sea, letting it float, and then putting it back on. I definitely swallowed a lot of salt water until I nailed that one. The certification culminates in rescue training, including bringing someone safely to the surface, then an exhausting swim around the entire boat. I almost threw in the towel halfway through the final swim, but pushed through and proudly earned the certification. Verdict on Diving: Fantastic. Professional, challenging, and rewarding. The Resort & Location: A Hard Pass While the diving was top-tier, the resort stay was, regrettably, meh. We had booked a traditional bungalow but had to change rooms immediately because it was a full-blown mosquito party. We upgraded to a Deluxe Bungalow, which was better but still underwhelming. We felt three nights were too long; two would have been sufficient just for the diving program. Even the island of Gili Air itself was a pass for us in the future. We found it lacked the "chill" atmosphere we had enjoyed on Gili Trawangan. Final Takeaway: If you are going to Manta Dive Resort solely to get certified or participate in their excellent dive program, it's worth it. However, if you are looking for a relaxing, high-quality resort stay or a superior island experience, we recommend staying elsewhere and simply booking your diving with Manta.

I did my Open Water course here. I loved my teacher Ayu! I had so much fun! After our first poolsesion we went to dive in de sea. My first dive was at Hansreef, which is breathtaking. Loved every minute of my course thanks to Ayu and the rest of staff. (Also, they have delicious snacks on board!)

We had a great stay at Manta Dive Resort. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. The diving experience was fantastic. Team was professional, friendly, and made everything easy and fun. The resort is within walking distance of the harbour. Gili Air itself is such a beautiful island, the perfect place to relax and explore. Highly recommend!
