I love the area of this bungalow, in the middle of the island, easy walk to the beach to enjoy Sunset, good food (but they can cook a bit longer for the noodle for Mie goreng) nice room, cleaned, and a friendly staff's, , big n nice swimming pool.p can be a bit noisy with kids if your room near the pool but overall is goodwplace to stay and clean, thank you!!

I’m solo travelling since a few months and this hotel felt just like home to me! Not only the room and the accommodations are really nice (great food and beautiful pool) but also all the staff is extremely kind, helpful and lovely 😊 It was hard to leave this place but if I have the chance to come back to Gili Air, I will stay at Captain Goodtimes without hesitation! (Regarding the comments about the call to prayer coming from the mosque, as travelers we must be informed and respect the cultural heritage of the places we visit and Gili Islands are Muslim islands) Thank you guys for everything, see you next time 🫶🏼

I loved my stay here. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind - my favourite people that I've met in Indonesia so far. The room was lovely - spacious, very clean with a huge bathroom. The facilities (pool etc) are great, theres a nice, chilled vibe and it feels secure. Only downside: water pressure isn't great. The mosque is audible but it didnt bother me when I wore ear plugs. North beach is a 5 minute walk away. Thank you Captain goodtimes for a lovely stay ❤️

a nice family hotel with a large pool. the breakfast was perfectly fine, the rooms were great in terms of size, only a wardrobe would have been good. for us, as a family of five, it was a very good location

It's truly disappointing to leave only one star, especially considering the exceptional friendliness of the staff, the good breakfast, and the unbeatable location. Unfortunately, all of this is completely overshadowed by the disastrous state of the rooms. The bungalows appear charming at first glance, but they reek of mold. When we left the island, we had to send all of our laundry to be cleaned, even the children's stuffed animals. As other reviews have pointed out, we are clearly not alone in this issue. The health risk posed by the moldy smell is unacceptable and completely ruined our vacation. Despite the friendly staff and the good location, I cannot recommend this hotel at all due to the unbearable conditions in the rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay at Captain Goodtimes. It is a really family friendly place with fantastic pool, diving area and loungers. The location is quite central which is good for exploring but not easy to access if you have luggage. We needed the horse and cart for suitcases. The rooms are more like eco lodges, so there was a smell of damp within and also quite a few insects visiting. This seems typical of the accommodation on Gilli Air and part of the charm. The Internet was not reliable. The breakfast and service from staff were impossible to fault. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay and even extended our visit.

We loved almost everything about this place. On previous visits to Gili Air we have always stayed on the beach but being in the middle of the island gives you so many more options. A beach is less than 5 minutes by bicycle. The rooms are well finished with great facilities, minibar (same price as regular bar) and lots of sockets. Some outside power socket options would have been nice too. It is very kid friendly and our daughter made a lot of new friends here. The pool area is fantastic and you can jump in from 4-5m up into a 2.5m deep pool. Food is great and offers a different menu to the usual places you would find - the laksa is fantastic but the chips are some of the best we have ever had. Twice cooked, hand cut - crunchy outside and fluffy in the middle! Breakfasts are excellent and they can be served to your room too - would be nice to have the option of some bacon there too please! The staff are brilliant and want to do everything to make your stay perfect. What would make this a 5? Maybe a couple of local dishes on the menu would be nice, especially if you are staying here for a week or two like we did. A shade or cover over the kiddie pool (which we understand is happening soon). When we come back to Gili Air we will definitely book Goodtimes again and have no hesitation recommending this place to other travellers.
