Bali boss arrested for allegedly setting truck driver on fire over Rp 8.5 million payment dispute
A 37-year-old man, identified as IPCP, was arrested in Karangasem Regency, Bali, on Friday, September 18, 2026, for allegedly setting his 20-year-old truck driver, I Gede Selamet, on fire. The incident reportedly stemmed from an outstanding payment the victim owed to IPCP. The victim sustained burns over approximately 40 percent of his body and was taken to Selat Community Health Center before being referred to Karangasem Regional Hospital. The fire also destroyed the 3 by 4 meter room, with damages estimated at Rp 10 million. IPCP was apprehended around 1:10 p.m. at his residence in Banjar Dinas Pesaban Kaler, Desa Pesaban, Rendang District, and is currently held at Selat Police Sector for questioning.
